Monday, August 18, 2008, 05:25 PM EST [General]

got 4 little unstable ladies here. All are spayed and I had to laugh - my 14 month old cats - are 3.3 and 3.6 lbs and the vet said they are overweight. These are tiny gals. I think the vet was confused. lol too much either.

Baby is all purrs and so pleased to be inside. All I need is 12 inside cats... what is a mama to do?

    another kitty morning

Monday, August 18, 2008, 12:56 PM EST [General]

We had a rough start to the morning. Hubby had to let me know he was running late and we could NOT run late for our spays. They were prepaid and we could forfiet payment - So I got Geoffie up and my kiddo doesn't rush well. It sends the AS kid into tears. I had to get the cats into travel containers and Maybeans decided she was having none of it. She got loose and I had to have help catching her. Help being an upset, crying 12 yr old - and my stiff fat self trying to block and recapture a cat determined not to be caught. I finally got hard on Geoffie. Told him he was not acting in a manner that was helping the situation. I needed him to calm down, stop crying, and get busy helping me corner the cat. He did, bless his heart, and we caught her and left the house 15 min later than we needed to.

Steve had gone to the mobile vet in advance and was sitting through the mandatory orientation. Money was safe - 3 cats in the same carrier is only possible when the cats are littermates. Maybelline has ripped a hole in the box I had for her.

I couldn't believe we pulled it off - cats delivered, Geoffie to school on time - me logged in to work - head throbbing, but we had managed to get our attitudes back to anticipating a good day - I had decided G could stay home if he was too out of sorts - no preteen should be seen that out of sorts by his peers... he said No Mommy, I'm ok. I can do it. He never ceases to amaze me as he learns to manage his own issues.

The vet has called, all the girls are spayed and doing well. They found fleas - well duh... and I declined treatment since I have $300 worth of Advantage sitting on the kitchen shelf. I try to put off treatment since the cats all hate me for a week afterwards. LOL

Steve will go get them at 4. Poor 'Baby' has to go outside right after her surgery. I have no clue whether she is litter box trained. Maybe I can close her in the bathroom for a couple of days - damn strays. Who else spends $70 to spay and release a cat? I thought I was the only one until this morning. I met a lady with 12 cats already and 7 more she'd just rescued from the pound. She was in tears because she had only been able to take those and 15 others had been destroyed right after. Beautiful cats, and she could only do so much... I don't know how she gets away with them all in an apartment.

Steve and I are talking about extending the cat run and associating with a rescue group. I don't know why.

    I hate cats.

    for Eithne - wedding attire

Sunday, August 17, 2008, 02:32 PM EST [General]

For the bigger dress, of course click the pic.

Dress is brown and slinky I guess - polyester. Feels wonderful, light weight. 53" long. I bought the Caftan this morning. Torquoise with brown. Sheer. I think this will work.

Mexico wedding, October, low to mid 80's. Now if the OSFA from Just My Size really fits all, I'm good.

    a little ramble

Sunday, August 17, 2008, 09:55 AM EST [General]

We had rain last night and this morning. I did get a chance to sit outside and light my candles last night. I thought of everyone here. It seemed a quiet moon - I was not quite sure what the energy was about.

Geoffie got up and fed the cats and bunny. I never have to tell him. Sweet little voice singing his own song while starting his day. He sprinkles in "I love you mommy, I love you Tink, I love you Cindy..." By the time he's done, he's told me 3 or 4 times waiting each time so I can say it back.

I feel like I say this stuff over and over - here on my blog.

Everything is quiet and the birds are visiting the feeder. I have Merle's site up for her music in the background. Bach is wonderful.

Vanessa sent me an email requesting Geoffrey's sizes for wedding attire. Kelly is wearing a Guayabera shirt it's a cuban linen shirt with lace down the front. I'm thinking my cotton dresses - any of them, would be fine for barefoot beach attire. I've decided on a brown dress, with orange shirt and torquoise belt. bare feet are just my style!

Taryn called. Everyone she counts on for rides has scheduled the weekend away. She is only getting $30 of the $110 back she was counting on from her sister. She knows the Marta bus number but not the East/West designation she needs for me to give her schedule times. so she'll have a wait if she guages wrong. Life is hard sometimes when we make lumpy beds to lie in. I sure hope she gets this one figured out so life becomes easier as she grows up. She's chosen a hard one for someone so young.

When I woke up last night and turned on a light, one of the cats had left a fox tail (it's an old NA craft supply) right by Steve's butt. I saw that and burst out laughing and woke him up. He was mad first then laughed with me. He asked why all the stupid things happen to him. I told him it's because he won't get in the covers. He leaves himself as a target! lol

I work today until 8pm. Just sitting here at the computer. Fun.

The kitties go for spaying first thing in the morning. That does all but the tiny kittens. FINALLY. I forgot I needed another $140.

What would life be if we remembered everything and were prepared perfectly? LOL Easier - that's for sure.

OK... I guess I'm just rambling. Sometimes rambles turn into something but not today apparently. So I'm gonna wish you a good day. Find the joy in the moment people...

    kisses.

    what a nice Saturday

Saturday, August 16, 2008, 01:18 PM EST [General]

I'm busy working from home and here on my lunch break I went and visited a blog I bookmarked a while back - http://emergingcrone.wordpress.com/ it's really a nice place to spend some time. I'm sure I'd like this lady face to face. From there, I listened to the Garden Song - Inch by inch and row by row Goddess bless these seeds I sow... lol words changed just a bit from Arlo Guthrie's original. I had a nice quesadea for lunch and am listening to a podbook called Shadowmagic. Very nice.

Kitties are curled round my feet and on the back of the chair and everywhere they can find to lay. lol I think it's safe to say I'm present in the moment.

Geoffie is going to wash dishes and clean up for a bit of money.

The kitchen sink has filled the bucket catching it's leak and has spilled over to the floor. Even that has a place at this moment. lol It's Steve's 'job to be gotten to... and it gives him a reason to go to bed when he gets home. I worry about him not getting enough rest and this keeps me from worrying - so I only occassionally bring it up - on a day with a Braves double header, or a day of thrift store over indulgence... LOL

Have you ever pulled up Cauldron Living Radio online? It's nice on occassion too.

Taryn called and told me she needed me to tell her her sister is not a c*nt and not using her. Poor kiddo. She keeps loaning money she can't live without and not being paid back as promised. I tried to tell her it is worse with family - they don't feel pressure to pay you back. If she doesn't stop saying yes to her sister, she's going to blow her chance to live on her own. I mailed her some money - she's got no place else to go.

It's such a nice afternoon. Steve should be home soon. I'm still thinking about dirt! lol DIRTTTTTTTTTTTtttttttttt........
