    Morning Rain

    collards

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 07:53 PM EST [General]

I just finished reading Cerberus' latest couple of blogs. Do you know he has published his book? How wonderful! I am buying it. Congratulations my friend!

Steve has worked all afternoon moving dirt. I seriously love this man. It has nothing to do with the ordinance notice. He just goes off and works in a frenzy every once in a while. He's got 2 of the beds filled. He wants as much done as possible before the rain comes.

Tomorrow a man comes out to measure the house for siding. I Guess we are squatting on our life. lol how do you change what you so greatly customize? lol And I have decided I AM planting collards in the front of the house. Collards on one side and turnips on the other! LMBO. "They" can't say a thing.

    and the wheel moves again

        Shakers

      Arrow

       Shakers (orange eyes)

         Arrow again

This neighborhood is so pretentious... this morning we were notified the Gwinnett County police will begin checking for code violations in another week. Just as we get our dirt, they have to flex their muscle. We live in a dinky little neighborhood where most homes are rentals. We are on the edges of the community that has a few active pushy as**oles who think they are an association. I could choke them.

They want the grass mowed to a certain heigth (I don't mow this time of year to preserve the ground moisture), no more than 4 cars - permits for this and that - I worry they will round up the ferals and bitch about my gardening in the neighborhood. I am so tempted to plant my collards in the front flower beds.

I get frustrated with Steve's procrastination, but it's nobody's business but ours whether we move that dirt in one week or 4. This notice is like living in an apartment where someone can spot check you. I work on our rabies shots, etc as I can. I have 3 that need their yearly ones - they can just make life frustrating. Move the dirt, don't feed the cats, you have too many cats - blah blah blah... move the cars... My yard has a privacy fence - we are always working on stuff. We are not renters - can't they just freaking go away?

    It's always something around here.

I was sitting here reading an article about Christina Applegate - 36 yrs old and she just had a double mastectomy. She has a gene that pushes her cancer risks up to 84%. She's talking about it publicly now and even sharing her anger at it.

    Yep, it's always something.

Sometimes I think we squat on our lives and try to make things fit right where they are. We don't like change so we accept junk and rules and we dig our feet in and stay put when we'd be better off embracing and sometimes even facilitating change -

Steve's been outside working in the yard for the last 3 hrs. I'm glad it's not as hot as it could be.

I got a picture of Shakers looking at me from the mirror. Isn't it cute? They have been my buddies today. Such black beauties. They still need homes... hint - hint....

    mama kitty has a home

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 05:24 PM EST [General]

the mid 20's young lady who came by is the daughter of cat rescueing parents - she's part of Taryn's SOLAR (LARP) group too. Small world. The kittens hid for all they were worth and couldn't be found. She carried mama off in the cardboard box, without seeing babies, knowing I could not guarantee that mama uses the litter box. I told her if it didn't work out we'd take her back - she could still live in the yard - Teresa said if she couldn't litter train a cat she'd just hang up everything. lol So Baby went home with a pretty red head -

I'm not sure what to do next besides start loading the wheelbarrel! The driver says it's dry and we will need to water it alot.  It's beautiful though. I want more already. lol

Someone called from my Craig's list ad to come see the little black mama cat tonight too - spayed yesterday, she looks more attractive. Yipee!

    everyone's home

Monday, August 18, 2008, 05:25 PM EST [General]

got 4 little unstable ladies here. All are spayed and I had to laugh - my 14 month old cats - are 3.3 and 3.6 lbs and the vet said they are overweight. These are tiny gals. I think the vet was confused. lol too much either.

Baby is all purrs and so pleased to be inside. All I need is 12 inside cats... what is a mama to do?
